What is Lion Dancing?
Lion dancing is when two performers dance, in a lion costume, to the sound of the instruments. Lion dancing is usually performed during the Chinese Year New, but we also perform for grand openings, weddings, parades, and more!
Lion Practice!
We teach classes that consist of lion dance fundamentals, instruments (that go along with lion dancing), and exercising! SGVCCA has lion practice every Wednesday at 5:30 PM and Saturdays from 12:30 PM - 2PM at a church in Hacienda Heights (15694 Tetley Street, Hacienda Heights, CA, 91745, United States). Further notices will be posted.
Lion Clinic!
A few times each year SGVCCA holds lion clinics for newcomers to learn lion dancing. This year we have completed all the lion clinics that will be held, but new lion clinics will be posted.
